Here is a quick video of Echo doing some tests for me on A-frame behaviors. Poor girl, she gets to test lots of methods for the benefit of my students.
If you haven't looked at the phase 0-3 training process for her, she was originally trained with stride regulators to run though, then to stop. That is my usual recommended practice for stopped contacts. The striding is the same for whether she stops or runs through - only the command for the obstacle is different.
Later on, When Rachel Sanders invented the box technique and I had students interested to try that, I trained Echo with a table on the ground to put all 4 feet in the box. Notice it is a smaller target area than the normal placement of her stride regulator.
OK so now you can see the difference in timing between running and stopped and at least a couple different running methods.
